Welcome!
I'm Mel, a qualified studio florist based in the beautiful High Peak, where I live with my husband, 4 children and our little cockapoo, Bonnie.
After a career spanning 16 years in the hobbycraft industry, designing, producing and marketing craft publications, my passion for flowers pulled me in a brand-new direction. I took the leap and retrained with the esteemed Tallulah Rose flower school in the Lake District, as well as learning sustainable techniques from a range of established florists, before finally achieving a Distinction-level formal qualification with the City & Guilds.

A Pocketful of Posies was born, and now I take great pleasure and pride in creating beautiful wedding florals and made-to-order gift bouquets for flower-lovers the year round. My little studio, based here in the rolling peak district hills, is where I design all of my fresh and dried floral designs with love and care using a mixture of seasonal, imported and locally grown flowers.
My style is to stay true to nature, with a wild and airy garden-style vibe, and I love adding delicate and dancing little details and unexpected elements to my designs for a hint of magic and whimsy.
When I'm not flowering weddings and events, you'll find me spending time walking in the local countryside with my dog, pottering in my garden or getting cosy with my family - we love a good movie night!
